Hi everybody. Welcome to my blog where I talk about the past.
Everyone always asks me what my favorite place was. They were all so different. I can’t say I had a favorite. But one island I went to was amazing. I never went back there again, but I loved my shoot on an island called Canouan. It was a great photoshoot. The make up artist I was working with was a little jumpy. Like if you scared here she would freak out. Now, my assistant ran ahead of us as we were working our way to the beach. We were going to do a sunrise shoot. Well, he hid in the bushes along a path that lead to the beach. As the make up artist went by, he jumped out of the bushes and grabbed her. She sounded like a siren from a fire station! I think she woke up the whole island. Our whole shoot was like that. We all played practical jokes on each other. I think the last straw was when my assistant and the make up artist were in Customs Hall in the United States (Miami). My assistant had put a bunch of shrimp in the make up artist’s bag. Well the she didn’t appreciate it and chased him all around Customs Hall. Well, the customs agents didn’t like their behavior and put them in a detention room. It was pretty funny. They were there for a while.
Canouan was beautiful though. It’s a small island in the Caribbean, near St. Vincents (you can google it). There weren’t many people there when I was there. Beautiful beaches. I have a bunch of cartoons from there. I often wonder what it’s like now that hotel conglomerates have discovered it.
I will share with you one funny story. I think I mentioned it a long time ago. I was working with a young woman who was a true Lolita. She was a young girl in the body of a young woman. I mean real woman. The pilot of a small plane was taxiing his airplane when he saw my Lolita. The guy almost crashed his airplane into a bunch of fuel tanks when he saw her. Once again, I escaped death.
I used to shoot with a bunch of different Elle magazines. This shoot was with British Elle. They were a good client. Actually most of the Elle magazines were good clients. We always did good trips. I miss them. In Paris I was known as working for the international Elle circuit. It kept me busy. They were cool. Those were the days I used to dance on bars with beautiful women. Now I take my wheelchair to get food. I think I said that before but it seems to be my theme.
Anyway, I miss and love you guys. Don’t forget to sign my petition for good sidewalks. I need them. We’re making progress, but if anyone out there has a media connection, I could use it. It seems the media and celebrity gets things done.
