The Past

Hi everybody! Welcome to my blog where I talk about my past.

Man, I need a form of escape today. I had a rough day. But it’s great. My friend here goes to my bookshelf of diaries and pulls out a book. She opens the book up to a page, and I talk about it. Above is a tour I did of a property my grandfather owned. My grandfather and grandmother were adventurous spirits. My grandfather would buy opals in the outback, bring them up to Hong Kong, sell them, and with the money, he would buy land in Australia. This drawing is about property he owned on Lake Tinaroo. He planted many macadamia nut trees to start a macadamia nut farm. The only problem was, the macadamia nuts attracted rats. And you know what the rats attracted; big ass snakes. And I’m not talking about your average rat snake. We’re talking big nasty vipers. Snakes like the Common Brown, Death Adders, stuff that would kill you pretty quick. But it was an amazing place

Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away before the trees got big. Who knows what’s on that land now. My friend and I just did a Google Earth search to check things out. They must have renamed the point where my grandfather owned the land because I couldn’t find it. But it was a great form of escape.

Speaking of forms of escape, I think that’s why I got into photography. It was a great form of escape. It became a form of meditation. Also the fashion shoots we produced were almost like a fantasy. We created shoots where your everyday person could think, I could be there, that could be me. That looks great. I guess you could say we were in a way, con artists. I guess it was a form of fantasy. Hey, you gotta sell those clothes. Right?

Anyway, I’m gonna leave it at that. I’ll include a picture of what I mean.

Love and miss you guys. Love, B. NIce
