The Present

December 9, 2025

December 9, 2025 Brian Nice

Hi everybody. Welcome to my blog where I talk about my present. I’m gonna presently dedicate this blog to my friend here, who’s writing this for me. She was in Hawaii for a week, so we didn’t blog. But I’d like to say “Welcome Back!”

I’m currently working on getting better sidewalks put in for people like me, the elderly, moms with strollers. You know. A decent sidewalk. Man, it’s tough. Talk about buracracy, but the good thing is, I have a meeting with the chief handicap officer of New York State that I’ll be meeting up in Albany. I was wondering why I’m doing all this, but then I figured out, it all gives me a sense of purpose. You know, before when I was an international fashion photographer, I was always busy trying to figure things out. My life seems kind of empty, you know, being in this wheelchair, and in the house, but now I have this sidewalk campaign and it gives me a sense of purpose. It seems simple, and sounds simple, but it’s tough to help a lot of people (including me). You know, this town is just growing and growing. My family has been here since 1968. We’re basically becoming an outer suburb of New York City. You know, like the outer Queens. We’re no longer the countryside, like it was in 1968. Hell, in the 1800’s this was all farmland. I guess we call that progress.

You know, our village is small. There are only like 2000 residents and most our income for the village comes from property tax. I’m learning a lot. There’s a lot to fix in this village and very little money. I hear this from the current administration and the previous administration. I almost feel like there should be a toll when people get off the train to visit our village. Anyway, wish me luck up in Albany. Should I bring my stinky dog?

Talk to you next week. Love, B. Nice

P.S. Above is what I’ve been working on. They’re more abstract images from my stock of photography.
