Hi everybody. Welcome to my blog where I talk about the present.
You know, when you’re like this, with a traumatic brain injury, it’s good to have a project to give yourself a feeling of self worth. My project right now is working on getting better sidewalks, you know, for people like me, for the elderly, for everyone. I’m trying to get better sidewalks in my community. It’s important. There’s a young kid helping me out. It kind of freaks me out. His father is the same age as me. Anyway, we went up to Albany to meet with the governor. The governor’s office put us in touch with the people that the governor would have recommended anyway. We basically saved a step in the process. I mean, it would have been cool to meet the governor, but I got to meet some pretty important people. It was a good meeting. I think this meeting will lead to getting better sidewalks in my community. It was cool They were particularly taken aback by Ronan’s age and his interest in this project. He did most of the talking. I said a few words in the beginning but he did most of the talking. I did say to them, “Watch out for this guy Ronan. He’s gonna be President one day.” Mind you we’ll all be in wheelchairs by then, although I am already in a wheelchair. Anyway, they were impressed by our work.
It is pretty cool that I’ve gotten this far and that I’m so messed up. I’ll tell you though, it was tough for me to go up there. I was exhausted when we came home. It was a long day.
I’m gonna keep it short. I also just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. On a personal note, I’d just like to say, I think Christmas has gotten too materialistic. It’s all about being together and sharing love. And if you can’t be together, just think about each other in a positive, loving way. Forget about the fact that I couldn’t go shopping anyway…
