The Past

Hi everybody. Welcome to my blog where I talk about my past.

I’m gonna dedicate this blog to my good friend. My friend is not doing good. But my friend has a good attitude. I think it will help get my friend through what my friend’s going through.

This blog is called, “You Animal!” It’s basically about the animals I had on my shoots. And I mean the four legged animals.

One time, I checked into my room in Mexico. I think it was Cancun. Anyway, the room was nice. It was right on the water in the mangroves. The room was beautiful but the only problem was there was a 14 foot saltwater crocodile on my back deck. I called the front desk and said I’d like to change rooms. The guy at the front desk was a real snob. He said, but sir, you have the nicest room in the hotel. I said, sure, the room was nice, but the bottle opener was not so nice. He said, excuse me sir? and I said yeah, the bottle opener on my back deck is not so nice. He was confused. I said, I’d like to change my room because the 14 foot bottle opener on my back deck was making me a little nervous. I didn’t take any photos of it. I just got the hell out of there. Somehow a glazed window doesn’t seem it would stop a 14 foot long saltwater crocodile.

I’ll tell you one other story. I have many but I think two will be good. I was in Australia when a cockatoo (big white parrot with a gold feathered head) landed on my railing. Mind you, I was eight stories high. The bird just sat there. I ran to the kitchen, got me some bread and slowly crawled towards the bird. it was watching me. I was like a sloth slowly crawling towards the bird. The bird cocked its head. It looked at me. I was moving so slow because I didn’t want to scare it away. All of a sudden it took off and landed on the building next to me. All his friends were at this building. There must have been about 20 cockatoos. They were on a railing. There was a guy feeding them bread water and sugar. They were all over him and the railing. They were totally tame. It was cool. I got the picture and from then on out, I used to feed the cockatoos. Every morning they were there. They are beautiful birds.

Next time I’ll tell you about the kangaroos, the lammas, the bears, the horses. I could do a lot more, but I’m just gonna leave it at two stories.

Love and miss you guys. Love, B. Nice
