Hi everybody. Welcome to my blog where I talk about my present.
You know, when you’re like I am, messed up, you gotta give yourself a sense of purpose. My thing now is getting better sidewalks for people like the handicapped, the elderly, everyone. Now, I live right on Route 9D in Cold Spring New York. I play piano and watch endless streams of people go by on a bad sidewalk. Then, to top it off, at the end of my street there is no sidewalk so people wind up walking on the road. Now I may sound like an old fart looking out the window, but I really strongly believe someone’s gonna get hurt. I see it every day all the time. I don’t think any officials in the DOT realize how important it is to have good sidewalks. Someone like me, you know, someone in a wheelchair has a hard time navigating what’s there. What’s there is just blacktop over a footpath. It’s tough and I was athletic, Im used to a challenge, but this is crazy. I mean, just today I was going to the store to get food and I almost went into oncoming traffic. So I guess this is gonna be my sense of purpose. I’m gonna make sure we get good sidewalks for everyone. There’s also more and more people showing up in our community. My town is becoming an outskirt of NYC. I guess you call that progress.
That’s all for now. I’m gonna get off my soapbox. I’m kind of irritated if you can’t tell. Anyway, give a shoutout to the DOT. We’re in Section 8 - which I think is kind of ironic because Section 8 means a crazy person in the army.
