Monday, October 21 - Arkansas to Kentucky

Actually we have seen nothing but green trees, rolling hills, horse farms, trucks, trucks and more trucks. A few Mack's, Mack, Mack.
We crossed the Arkansas River and of course the wide Mississippi River. Blue skies with just a hint of horse tail clouds (hmmmm change in temp and possible rain).

We stopped at Jackson at what we thought was a B BQ place, no cars outside, but we went in and they were serving pulled pork, but it was a BIKER BAR, a real hang out.

Tomorrow we leave late and are taking small, slow roads.

Thursday, October 17 - El Paso, TX to Abilene, TX

On tomorrow to Fort Worth and another brief visit with my little one. Makes all the driving coming back worth it. Here's an interesting comparison from my friend and filmmaker, Adam Hall from one of our first lunch stops about 3 weeks ago. Adam writes: "I recognized a picture from the blog as our epically delicious lunch in Washington, North Carolina and I remembered watching Brian take it and then I took out my phone to try and match Brian's point of view."

Here is a side by side comparison.

Tuesday, October 15 - Yuma, AZ to Tucson, AZ

Open skies. I did get back in the car a little reluctantly, you could say. But the "new" crew includes some guys I did photography with in the past. We can talk "shop" which is really cool to be able to do again. And then, of course, there are wide open scenes like this. Pretty inspiring. photo-2

Well, Arizona was nice, but ... back to Texas! Man, that's a big state.

photo-6More good Mexican food. Another great lunch. We just look for a lot of cars outside a Restaurant and away we go. I could get into this restaurant, review stuff, but I might weigh 300 lbs. We are in Pecos, Texas. The speed limit is only 80 mph here.
