Wednesday, October 2, 2013 - Auburn, AL to Meridian, MS

We had an exciting morning in Auburn. Just as I was getting ready to go to the fitness center of the hotel to have a little workout before hitting the road again, the power in the entire hotel went out! Never a dull moment. We re-packed our bags and just waited it out, trying to figure out what to do if the power stayed out through our scheduled departure time. (Our producer is really strict about the schedule!) The hotel staff was willing to help get us down. Our room was on the 4th floor! We floated the idea of calling the fire department. Then the power came back on. We actually rolled out of Auburn ahead of schedule by 5 minutes! The Beast was nice and clean. It had gone through the carwash in Auburn so the windows were nice and clean for photos. Our route took us to Selma, AL for lunch. The Twitter-verse has been super helpful in directing us to great lunch places. We drove over the Edmund Pettus Bridge and hit Water Street which has seen a lot of history from Civil War time to Civil Rights movement.

Savannah is a beautiful town. Old houses around park squares in town. Can't wait to see those pictures.

Today we made our way from Savannah to Auburn. It shows on the map as Columbus, but we pushed ourselves a little farther to Auburn. Long driving day, but we got good pictures and had a couple of fun stops.

This is Savannah's bridge at sunset.

We also finally made a lunch stop with BBQ. The picnic spot we picked had a strong presence of the manure from the cotton field across the road, but we enjoyed.

Monday, September 30, 2013 - Myrtle, SC to Savannah, GA

I'd taken a lot of rolls of film between home and Myrtle Beach and planned to send this days films off at the end of the day FedEx to the Lab for processing. I can't wait to see the results. It's been very exciting and challenging to do this trip and keep up with all of the great shots going by from my view in the car. Oh yeah, life is therapy, but when you're in a really nice hotel - Work OUT!

On route to Savannah, we chanced on another great lunch place called McClellanville Diner. We took our food down to another park on an inlet and ate with the No-See-'ems and the Spanish Moss (don't ever touch it - it's got bugs in it!).

Sunday, October 29, 2013 - Norfolk, VA to Myrtle Beach, SC

Getting to Norfolk was pretty cool. We had just taken the Ferry and then we went through the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. From Norfolk, VA, we set out on Sunday for Myrtle Beach, SC. We covered a lot of miles that day. We generally start out pretty fresh and roll in to our scheduled town around dinner time. We do stop every few hours for a stretch and I've been getting a lot of really great shots. Image

Team B. Nice all have their different jobs and we work together really well. On our way to Myrtle Beach we had a great lunch break down by the water in Washington, NC.

You can see the weather has been cooperating too. Sunny skies can be tricky for photography, but we'll work with it.

We arrived at the hotel when it was already dark. Man, some of these days are long, but we're making good tracks. Next morning we cruised up and down North Ocean Boulevard to see the big hotels and catch a peak at the Atlantic Ocean between them.

Saturday, September 28, 2013 - Cape May, NJ to Norfolk, VA

Today we did Cape May to Norfolk, Virginia. So we started in New Jersey, went through Delaware and ended up in Virginia! Here we are on the Boardwalk of Spring Lake, NJ

The Crew in Spring Lake, NJHad a nice lunch and met a woman who shared some experiences she's having dealing with TBI. She saw us an immediately knew there was something was special about our crew. It was great to meet her.

On the Ferry we met another woman who had seen information about our trip on Twitter. Pretty cool. We're making connections across the country.
